IIT was the first Segway friendly campus in the country. It was from this initial experience and the subsequent years of interacting with students, that we have built our expertise in University operations. The Segway Personal Transporter is the perfect vehicle to transport a student to classes and to all those extracurricular activities that occur on campus. Running errands and grabbing a meal are made far easier and more enjoyable on the Segway PT. The initial cost of the machine is comparable with the price of a mid-range used car, but the Segway is far less expensive to operate and can accomplish things that the car was never intended to do. Imagine unplugging the machine in your dorm room and stepping on for a glide down the hallway and out to the campus sidewalks, straight to class, or visiting friends in other dorms. Traveling twice as fast as walking, and riding 8” taller than other pedestrians, the path is easy to see and the trip is far more enjoyable! Speed is controlled by your body position, so if crowds appear, it’s easy to blend right into the flow of the sidewalk by just standing straight! It’s a fantastic feeling to be so ecologically responsible!
